As the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony went live in Paris last Friday, the Jamaica Pegasus hotel partnered with Saint International to bring a watch party and fashion show to the people of Kingston so they could cheer on Team Jamaica. Spectators filling the hotel’s lobby were treated to Olympic-inspired sweet and savoury bites created by Executive Chef Mark Cole and his team.

As thousands of athletes cruised along the Seine River on barges to ring in the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics last Friday, sport and fashion enthusiasts, and Kingston’s who’s who — dressed in patriotic gear — watched from the lobby of the Jamaica Pegasus, sipping glasses of sangria, delighting in fashion from local designers Heather Laine and Kadian Nicely, relishing Chef Mark Cole’s Paris Olympics-themed fare, and hobnobbing with Olympians, pausing only for #TeamJamaica’s arrival on the big screen.
